Awning tiles care instructions

Laying the tiles

The tiles have a textured surface on one side and are smooth on the other; the tiles should be laid with the smooth surface in contact with the ground and the textured surface facing up,
In windy conditions we recommend that you peg the tiles using ground sheet pegs, you need not damage the tiles simply place the pegs in a space in the interlocking pattern on the edge of the tiles, one peg per tile on the edge facing the wind is sufficient to stop them blowing away. Alternatively a chair or table placed on the edge facing the wind will also do the job

Packing away the tiles

When you lift the tiles the smooth sides will inevitably be dirty, pick up two tiles at a time and place the smooth (dirty sides) face to face and place in the bag, continue lifting two at a time and placing them dirty sides together in the bag, packing away in this fashion ensures the dirty sides face each other and consequently the clean upper sides also face each other this reduces the amount of time you need to spend cleaning the upper surfaces

Cleaning

Treat your tiles as you would a ground sheet
In daily use you can sweep away any surface debris with a broom
To clean them after a prolonged time in use you can use several methods
Rinse under running water using a cloth or brush to remove any dirt
A bucket of water and a cloth/brush also works well
You may also use a pressure washer set on a low setting
Once clean allow the tiles to dry before packing away

Daily care instructions

Do not place hot items on the tiles
Do not place sharp or pointed objects directly on top of the tiles as this could cut or mark them

Chairs with a bar instead of feet and chairs with large feet, which spread the weight effectively, can be placed directly on top of the tiles; you will notice these types of chairs will make an impression, which will recover after a short time

Some chairs (eg directors chairs) with small feet when placed directly on top of the tiles could make an impression that will not recover, to avoid this place a mat or something between your chairs and the tiles to spread the weight.

Follow these simple guidelines and your tiles will last you many seasons
