Wind Blocker Sunshades

Made from very light polyester voile designed to block the wind and diffuse the stong rays of the sun.

Used by the Dutch for many years to protect delicate blooms in the flower & bulb fields

They can be erected and taken down in minutes unlike a traditional heavy safari room.

The system consists of a few simple elements, described below   

End panels supported by expanding poles

Expanding poles are used to support the end panels

which are fitted with elastic loops along the top edges and elastic ties along the bottom edges

Each expanding pole is fitted with a rubber end cap, one end also has a hook, simply slide the extended pole through the 13 loops that run along the top edge ensuring the last loop is caught by the hook then simply place the top end (hooked end see picture below) of the pole in the awning cassette and adjust the length of the expanding pole so it rests in the the bottom awning rail,you may have to re-adjust the pole length to get a good fit.Then simply peg down the bottom of the end panel.

The elastic elements incorporated into the design ensure the material stays relatively taught.

A word of caution - if the wind is strong we reccomend you take down the shades and wind in your awning

End panels are made in 2 sizes STANDARD and JUMBO

Expanding Poles for End Panels

In order to keep cost down we use everyday washing line clothes props that are available in any reputable hardware shop. We simply cut off the hook on the top of the pole with a saw and slide rubber caps on each end of the pole along with a small hook underneath the top one to stop the shade from sliding down the angle. See the photo to the right. However we cannot post the poles out with your order as the post office do not handle long items. A courier charges around £35 to deliver them and usually ends up bending them anyway. It makes no sense from our point of view to charge you an extra £35 courier fee for poles (when they may end up bent anyway) when you can purchase these your self for around £3 each locally. We will send you the fittings for the ends with you order

Front panels

The front panels are made from the same material as the end panels and have the same elaticated ties at intervals along the bottom edge. The top edge is fitted with a special bolt rope tape pictured left that simply inserts into the existing channel in your Fiamma or Omnistor Awning

Front panels are made in 6 sizes, they are all 198cm tall

widths 224cm, 300cm, 350cm, 375cm, 400cm, 450cm
